19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20The Jews therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?” 21But he spoke of the temple of his body.
The conversation seems to be about a building. Yet John says Jesus was speaking of his body. The dwelling place of God is now being spoken of in a way the listeners did not expect.
And here is where the path opens. Does Scripture speak of God dwelling in a people? Of his glory filling the sanctuary? Or of a garden and the river of life?
